You want to believe the statement primarily because the man at the helm of affairs is none other than Mani Ratnam, one of the finest talents India has produced. Irrespective of how his films are received by the paying public, you cannot deny the fact that a Mani Ratnam film is special.

So when GURU, Mani’s new film, makes claims such as the one mentioned above, the viewer saunters into the cineplex with real big expectations.

Parineeta Review

When the lights go off in a movie hall, all a moviegoer looks forward to is a captivating story to unfold on screen. And if the mesmerizing story has the backing of an efficient narrator, it only proves to be an icing on the cake.

Besides, revisiting a classic that has been attempted on celluloid earlier is tricky business. But the 2005 adaptation of this early 20th century classic is interesting. In parts, not in entirety.

There is a buzz that Vidhu Vinod Chopra’s Eklavya starring Amitabh Bachchan might be premiered at the Global Indian Film Awards (GIFA) this year. However, when we called up Vidhu Vinod Chopra’s office, their spokesperson said, “An offer has been made to us by GIFA to premiere Eklavya at their show, but nothing has been finalized yet.
